Whilst salads are simple to make, it is hard to buy them pre-packaged, as they will often contain vegetables high in FODMAPs or salad dressings that contain onion and garlic. It’s therefore much easier to just pull something together yourself to ensure it doesn’t aggravate your IBS.
This is a simple salad I like to make at home that can be served with any main dish, or simply with a grilled protein for a lighter meal option.
Low FODMAP Basic Salad
- Spring onion
- Lemon juice
- Garlic olive oil
- Rock salt
Chop the above ingredients into small amounts.
Mix the dressing ingredients in a bowl and add to the salad.
You can make this low FODMAP basic salad in large batches and store in an air tight container to have throughout the week. It’s a great one to take in to work for lunch.
Keep your eyes peeled for a more wintery salad option soon.
